Christmas Trees in Claremont: Chamberlain Choose and Cut Tree Farm
Updated: Nov 12, 2020
Make 2020 the year of choosing your own Christmas tree and cutting it down yourself. What an adventure to go down in the books! Luckily you can have this authentic experience at Chamberlain Choose and Cut Tree Farm, a family owned Christmas Tree Farm in Claremont since 1991. Their trees range in price from around $95–$150 (sales tax included) and specialize in three types: Monterrey Pine, Monterrey Cyprus, and Leyland Cyprus.
My favorite part about coming to this farm is knowing that owners, Eric & Jeanie Chamberlain, tend to these trees all year long to ensure the best quality. The experience you'll have to choose and cut your own tree will create lasting memories as Eric says, “Come on in and choose a tree and have fun while you're doing it."
It’s such a unique experience considering this is the last standing Christmas tree farm in LA County. So, put the artificial tree away this year, resist the urge to go to Lowe’s, and pick out your Christmas tree in Claremont at Chamberlain Choose and Cut Tree Farm.
What Can I Expect When I Arrive?
The process in picking out a tree is simple. Stop by the farm during open business hours- Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm starting November 28, 2020. Enter the farm through the river rock pillars and walk around to see which tree best fits your needs. Trees for sale have a price tag. Trees without a tag are still in the process of growing for future holidays!
Once you’ve said “Yes, to the Tree”, you will pay first (check or cash) then have two options (A) cut it down yourself with a saw or (B) have one of the tree farm helpers cut it down for you.
Side Note: Only on November 28–29, 2020 you can "reserve a tree"; pay for it first then pick it up later.
Optional items are available for purchase such as a tree net, tree stand, tree cover, disposable tree bag, and tree food.
They’ll provide you with care instructions for your tree and off you go!
It’s quite a memorable experience–especially for the little ones. Be sure to have your cameras ready when they cut that sucker down because it's definitely an Instagrammable moment.
