Friday Nights Live
What’s a summer in Claremont without Friday Nights Live?! Every Friday, May through October, local musicians play in the Claremont Village from 6-9 p.m. at these locations: Chamber of Commerce, Village Plaza, and Shelton Park.
Feel free to bring your own chair, picnic, kids, and the dog and jam out with the whole family during Friday Nights Live.
Claremont Music Scene
Claremont Music Scene (CMS) is a volunteer-driven organization with the purpose of connecting people together through music. Most recently they have revamped their method in connecting musicians to venues.
Musicians looking to connect with each other or local businesses can fill out a form to create their musicians profile. That information will be shared with businesses looking to book musicians.
What I love most about CMS is their commitment and dedication to keeping up the live music events calendar.
This calendar will let you know all the live music happening around Claremont at any given time of the week.
Local Musician Feature: Andrew Lipow
Written by Brian Luft, Founder of Claremont Music Scene
Andrew Lipow is relatively new to the Claremont area, having moved from Nashville a few years ago. Along with his significant other and his energetic dog Milo, he brings a wealth of musical ability and knowledge. Andrew studied music at Vassar College and SUNY Purchase and has since gone on to apply himself in many facets of music performance and production. He currently works as a film and television composer and you can see his recent work listed on andrewlipow.com. I first made contact with Andrew by responding to an ad for a guitar luthier and he did a few affordable, high-quality setup jobs on my electric guitars.
Recently, Andrew has started a weekly residency at Union on Yale on Sunday’s from 5-8 pm to provide diners with tasteful background music. Andrew performs a selection of pop and jazz covers on acoustic guitar, mixing the familiar with his own flair for a nice experience.
