Claremont Music Guide: Spring 2023

Alas, the spring 2023 issue of the exclusive Claremont Music Guide is here! This is a quarterly music guide in collaboration with Claremont Music Scene.


We put our heads together to compile and highlight music events and activities happening around Claremont just for you. Live music is alive and well around Claremont and this guide will help to connect you to local music events.


Monday Night Concerts in Memorial Park


Monday Night Concerts is back and will kick off on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Memorial Park in Claremont. Concerts are free, family and pet friendly, and highly encourage bringing a blanket, chair, and picnic.

Friday Nights Live


Each Friday night May thru October from 6 - 9 pm, musicians perform in Claremont Village at these locations:

  • Village Plaza at 101 N. Indian Hill Blvd.

  • Chamber of Commerce (outside from door) at 205 Yale Ave.

  • Shelton Park at W. Bonita & N. Harvard Ave.

The event is free and would not be possible from the support of the City of Claremont, Claremont Chamber of Commerce, Claremont Village Marketing Group, and Claremont Village Square.

Folk Music Store Events


The Folk Music Center is not just a music store, it's an educational and cultural center, a museum for the preservation of antique and folk instruments, and a gathering place to share a love and passion for music. That said, they have a few upcoming events to mark your calendar:

Claremont Symphony Orchestra


Take part in attending Claremont Symphony Orchestra’s final (and free) concert of the 2023-2024 season which is their 70th season!


Taking place on Sunday, June 11 at 3:30 p.m at Bridges Hall of Music in Claremont, you’ll enjoy Elgar, Sibelius, Smetana, and Ravel, featuring cello soloist Marek Szpakiewicz on Elgar's sublime Cello Concerto.


Doors open at 3:00 pm and the concert starts at 3:30 pm.

Music Events at the OJP Music Lounge


Not A Moment Soon Soon Performance at OJP

Ophelia’s Jump Productions is a non-profit local theater company since 2013 located at 2009 Porterfield Way, Suite H in Upland. They recently expanded their space to open a music lounge featuring incredibly talented artists across the globe. The space is very quaint and charming offering exclusive lounge vibes with a cash bar serving wine, beer, and cocktails.


Jazz Fellowship will be performing at OJP on Saturday, July 29th and details will be up on their website soon.

Claremont Music Scene Hosted Event & Calendar


Claremont Music Scene is hosting an event with music by Jazz Fellowship at Evolve Distilling speakeasy style! The private event takes place June 15th and you'll need a secret code for entry. Sign up for Evolve Distilling's newsletter email list and Claremont Music Scene's newsletter to receive info on this exclusive event and your passcode for entry.


Claremont Music Scene maintains a live music events calendar to inform you of all the music happening around Claremont.

Claremont Music Scene (CMS) is a volunteer-driven organization with the purpose of connecting people together through music. They’re dedicated to highlighting and elevating the music scene in Claremont by connecting musicians with each other and to venues.



Local Music Spotlight: Funk’d Martini


Funk’d Martini is a high-energy party band playing hits from POP, Funk/Disco, Rock, and R&B. They are thoroughly entertaining as they are talented. I would describe them as captivating and mesmerizing and will guarantee you to get those legs dancing or head bobbing.


You can catch them perform around town at Chase’s in La Verne, Last Name Brewery, 1906 Inc. Pub and Grill, Neon Bear Brewery, and September’s in Rancho Cucamonga.
